What in your background qualifies you to serve in this position?

I have worked in management positions for over 20 years. The biggest qualifier is that I am a public servant which means that I am running for people not for power. My opponent is concerned with keeping his power. I am concerned about the people in my district.

Why are you running for this position?

In June 2022, Roe V. Wade was overturned. This shameless act by The Supreme Court galvanized my commitment to protecting women’s reproductive health rights which was my call to run for office. I am different from my opponent because my opponent wants to legislate morality and in my opinion, no politician should be trying to govern morality.

What is your platform?

My platform is protecting women’s right to reproductive health including abortion services. Another part of my platform is supporting our public education by ensuring that funding is restored to pre-voucher levels. We are financially starving our schools and it has to stop.

What are the most pressing issues facing Clermont County that come before someone who is elected to the position you seek?

According to the Community Nursing Division surveys in Brown and Clermont, the most pressing issue is access to mental health services. We also need an in-patient drug and alcohol treatment center between Brown and Clermont. Our families should not be on long waiting lists and should be able to gain these services in a timely manner closer to home. Another pressing need is updated water and sewer for Felicity and Hamersville. The reason these towns struggle is because they lack updated infrastructure. We need better infrastructure to grow our small towns and villages and to create small businesses that sustain families. Also, after infrastructure is completed, I would like to see a splash park in Felicity and in Hamersville.

If elected, what would you seek to enhance and improve Clermont County?

I would like to see more preschools/early childhood enrichment facilities in Brown and in Clermont. I will seek funding for vouchers for preschools for all families in my District. The Clermont County Animal Shelter needs immediate help and I will work with the county to ensure that it is fully staffed by excellent individuals who have experience working in shelters.

Clermont County Parks will always be supported and funded because unlike my opponent I am for keeping our parks pristine for our future and not for fracking.

We have an aging population, many of which live alone. I will vote to increase Medicare to cover more in-home health checks and care. There are too many people who are one paycheck away from losing their homes. We need to work to keep people in their homes. There should be a moratorium on property tax if you are in your house X number of years and are X years old. This would do wonders to keep our elders in their legacy homes.

What you will not catch me doing is writing legislation to clear the way for 794 homes knowing that it will push our schools, police, and fire into crisis. I care more about our community than pleasing a party. If I am elected I will serve ALL in my county to the best of my ability.
