Linda Dollenmeyer of Union Township.

I know I have written before about my time at Cincinnati Bell. I think of that time with the utmost respect. They were excellent employers. The best thing was their training. You were trained so very well. Best of all was their customer service training. I was hired on the spot at Southern Bell in Georgia when I told them I worked at Cincinnati Bell. They knew I could do the job and do it well.

That is part of the reason why customer service now is driving me crazy! From drive-thru- to groceries-to cashiers-you pick- it’s awful! You call about a specific problem with your card-your order-your money! Duh!! No one knows the answer. They don’t even know what you are talking about. We live in a world where all known info is on computers. Do they not have information?

Perhaps I am just being old. A lot of the problem I think is that every business needs employees. It seems everywhere you go-We Are Hiring- signs are posted. Everywhere.

I remember while working at Sharefax talking to a member that had a problem with her account. She was very angry. I remembered my training at Cincinnati Bell and said-How can “I” help you! She calmed down and together we solved the problem. My friend “Weenie” who had heard the call came around and told me what a great job I had done. It was just customer service.

I remember one training session at Cincy Bell-YOUR VOICE IS YOU! I hate that horrible whining voice. and lazy drawling voice. Listen to yourself, would you want someone who talks like that to fix your problem? Perk up Buttercup!

You know I do not mean every company I talk to. Most are happy to answer and happy to serve you. The Clermont Sun is great! Frisch’s drive-thru was really great. Meijer pharmacy is wonderful.

Sorry to unwind. I guess good customer service is in my genes. Times they are a changing. I know. Sometimes I just wish for The Good Old Days. The old Krogers in Batavia-Rosenweigs to buy some great clothes-My Shop in Milford. You know the places-where—Everyone knows your name and your voice if you call and are so happy to help you.

Remember-Your voice is you!! Talk nice! Be good to each other!
