It seems to me that Spring has flown the coop! Was there a Spring? Did I miss it? I don’t know about you, but this has been a crazy Season. Hot one day; very cool the next. You’re all ready for shorts and sandals and the next day you are looking for your sweatshirt! As I write this there are only three more days till June-so-maybe it will be normal?
I don’t think I have ever seen a time of awakening from winter more beautiful than this year. I hope you have noticed the wonderful blooms-so full and colorful. All along the roadside Catalpa trees are full, the locust are so full and blooming. The yards are beautiful. I see a lot of my favorite plants—Catmint or Nepeta. It was first grown in Rome and used as a herbal tea and insect repellant. It is beautiful-lavender, purple blooms on long fronds. It can grow in sun or part shade. In any soil and is deer resistant. Mine blooms from May till frost sometimes after. I love this plant-My favorite! Notice the blooms in yards around mailboxes etc.
I love that people are making their yards and doorways pleasing to the eye. I’m the one that drives so slow, because I’m always noticing the Welcome Signs-the wreaths- the yard ornaments. The world is a beautiful place. enjoy it!
One more thing from Mr. Barg. In 1911, the Barg barn was struck by lightning and burned. It was mentioned in the sun. Almost exactly in April 1961, it was on fire again. Mr. Barg built his shop in the same place as the barn. Life goes on. Even in Barns.
My 2nd grade grandnephew saw an Owl the other day walking with his Grandma. They have hawks-Owls-Falcons. Oh My!!
Take the time to look outside. Notice the Blooms, the colors, the smell, and the beauty of God’s wondrous design.
