Batavia will have an outdoor tree lighting this year, instead of an indoor Christmas in the Village event for children.
Lights will go on at 7 p.m. Saturday, December 4. The tree will be at 196 E. Main St., by the new Batavia Village sign. Children are invited to make ornaments for the tree and bring them, and the village will serve sweet treats and have a Santa Claus.
