In a remarkable display of unity and compassion, the Clermont County Park District has partnered with the Clermont County Mental Health and Recovery Board’s (CCMHRB) “You Are Not Alone” initiative to promote mental health awareness and create a culture of acceptance. This initiative aims to break the stigma surrounding mental health issues and provide support to those in need, wherever they may be.
The Clermont County Suicide Prevention Coalition, which is a coalition lead by the CCMHRB, launched a robust public awareness campaign in September, collaborating with local state parks. Signs featuring the Clermont and Brown Crisis Line (513-528-SAVE(7283), National Suicide Prevention Lifeline (988), and the National Veterans Crisis Line (988, press 1) were posted, ensuring 24/7 access to these critical resources.
Local Clermont County parks have joined the initiative by posting “You Are Not Alone” signs in seven county park locations. These signs serve as a constant reminder that help is always available and aim to foster a supportive environment for all visitors.
“We believe that mental health is just as important as physical health,” said [Marcie Keith], [Chair, Clermont County Suicide Prevention Coalition]. “Our goal is to create an environment where everyone feels accepted and supported, regardless of their mental health status.”
