The village of Bethel’s longtime village administrator is leaving his position and has accepted a new position as the next village administrator for the village of Georgetown.

Travis Dotson has been Bethel’s village administrator since March 2008.

There was a brief time when Dotson fell out of the role; he resigned in October 2021 but returned to the position when village leadership asked him to return.

Now, Dotson said that he is excited to start his role as the next village administrator in the village of Georgetown.

“My wife and I both grew up in Brown County and started our family there. My first job was at the Georgetown McDonald’s where I was an original team member when the store opened,” he said.

Dotson’s current contract with Bethel calls for a 60-day notice, and over the next two months, he will work through the transition as he moves to full-time in Georgetown.

Dotson reflected fondly on his time working for Bethel.

“I am thankful for my time as the Administrator in Bethel and I will work to ensure that there is a smooth transition as their next Administrator is selected and steps into the role,” Dotson said.

Bethel Mayor Jay Noble said that Dotson accepting the administrator position in Georgetown was “somewhat quick.”
