Softball tournament play is drawing ever so closer and now Clermont County teams know where their postseason paths will begin.

The Southwest District tournament draw was held on Sunday, May 1 as part of the statewide OHSAA tournament draw.

In Division I, Milford earned the highest overall seed of any local school. The Lady Eagles are the No 3. seed and will host either No. 15 Seton or No. 24 Sycamore at 5 p.m. on Wednesday, May 11.

If the Lady Eagles advance to the district semifinals, they would compete on Monday, May 16 at Lakota East High School.

West Clermont drew the No. 14 overall seed. The Lady Wolves welcome No. 26 Northwest to campus for an opening-round game on Monday, May 9 at 5 p.m.

Should the Lady Wolves advance, they would face No. 4 Mason in Mason on May 11. West Clermont’s district semifinal would also be on May 16 at Lakota East.

In Division II, the New Richmond High School softball team earned the top seed in the sectional. The Lady Lions host a familiar foe, No. 5 Clinton-Massie, on Tuesday, May 10.

New Richmond has defeated the Lady Falcons twice this season, once 9-8 and again 12-10. Should they complete the sweep, they would face another SBAAC foe.

Goshen drew the No. 9 seed in the tournament and would battle the winner of New Richmond and Clinton-Massie on Thursday, May 12. Regardless of who wins the first-round contest, Goshen would be the road team in the game.

Batavia earned the No. 4 seed in the Division II tournament. The Lady Bulldogs host No. 6 Wyoming on May 10. Should they win, they would then host No. 8 Roger Bacon on May 12.

Any Clermont County team advancing to the district semifinal would compete at Milford on Tuesday, May 17 at 5 p.m.

In Division III, Williamsburg drew the No. 2 overall seed and a first-round bye. The Lady Wildcats will host either No. 12 Finneytown or No. 14 Mariemont on May 11.

With a win in that contest, the Lady Wildcats would earn a spot in the district semifinal at Indian Hill High School on May 16.

Bethel-Tate earned the No. 4 seed in Division III and a matchup against league foe East Clinton at home on May 9. Should the Lady Tigers advance, they would host either No. 10 McNicholas or No. 7 Madeira on May 11.

Clermont Northeastern’s tournament opener is against No. 19 St. Bernard on May 9. The No. 5 Lady Rockets would then travel to No. 3 Reading with a win.

Both Bethel-Tate and CNE would travel to Wyoming High School for the district semifinals on May 16 should they advance to that point.

In Division IV, Felicity drew the No. 3 overall seed. The Lady Cardinals host No. 6 Ripley on May 12 at 5 p.m. The winner of that contest faces either No. 1 Southeastern or No. 8 Cedarville in the district semifinals at Hilltop Softball Diamond in Wyoming on Tuesday, May 17.

In addition to the softball draws, boys tennis tournament draws were held on May 1.

In Division I, Milford, Goshen and West Clermont are scheduled to compete at Mason on May 11.

New Richmond and Batavia tennis players will compete in the Division II tournament in Mason on May 10. Felicity tennis is slated to compete at the Lindner Family Tennis Center on May 11.
