Some spectacular programs highlighting our Native Son, General and President Ulysses S. Grant, are lined up over the last week of April in honor of his Bicentennial Birthday. On April 28, 2022 at 7:30pm at the United Methodist Church Fellowship Hall, located at 217 S. Main St. Georgetown, Ohio, Chris Burns will be presenting “The Women in U.S. Grant’s Life”. This program is hosted by the Brown County Historical Society. On April 29, 2022, at 6pm at Living The Word Church, located at 402 W. Plane St, Bethel, Ohio listen to Dr. Curt Fields as U.S. Grant, as he remembers Grant’s time in Bethel and will also feature period music by Steve and Lisa Ball. This is hosted by the Bethel Historical Society. On April 30, 2022 at 10am, at the Gaslight Theater located across from the Methodist Church in Georgetown, see special guest Admiral Sean Buck, Superintendent of the U.S. Naval Academy, who will interview General Grant, (Dr. Curt Fields) on his war strategies in ” An Interview with General U.S. Grant”. After a break for lunch and birthday cake at the Methodist Church, we will meet back at the Historic Gaslight Theater for another interview at 2pm with another guest, Dr. Charles Calhoun, Author, for a ” Conversation with President U.S. Grant”. The finale for the evening of the 30th, will be a military concert by the 73rd Ohio Volunteer Infantry Band at 7pm, but we suggest you come early, and bring a chair! This will be followed by a laser light show and fireworks! Souvenirs will be available and local restaurants will be open for concession.
