Shane Elkin, Goshen High School teacher and head football coach, recently participated in an exclusive week-long workshop offering an in-depth look at how the Marine Corps shapes young recruits into Marines. He was among a select group of educators, coaches, directors, counselors, and administrators invited to experience firsthand the rigorous training and comprehensive opportunities available within the Marine Corps.
During the immersive program, Elkin gained up-to-date insights into Marine Corps training practices, a wide array of military occupational specialties, various service options, the military lifestyle, and the extensive educational opportunities provided to Marines.
The workshop was designed to provide participants with a deeper understanding of the Marine Corps. Attendees engaged in a variety of activities, from tackling obstacle courses that mirror Marine training to gaining exclusive access to military bases. This hands-on experience ensures that participants leave not only with the confidence to have informative conversations about the Marine Corps but also with an unforgettable personal experience.
