A woman from Amelia was killed and five people were injured as the result of a two-car crash between a pick-up truck and a mini-van near the East Fork State Park June 16.
The Ohio State Highway Patrol is currently investigating the tragic fatal crash that occurred around 3:30 p.m. Sunday, June 15 at the intersection of state Route 222 and state Route 125 that claimed the life of 39-year-old Amelia resident Tamara Reany.
Reany was pronounced dead at the scene after being thrown from a 2000 Plymouth Grand Voyager being driven by Samantha Armstrong, 16, also from Amelia, who was struck by a 2006 Ford F-150 while turning left onto Bantam Road.
The Ford pick-up truck that struck the mini-van before rolling over was being driven by 67-year-old Bethel resident Norman Peters, alone in the truck, who was transferred to Anderson Mercy Hospital, and later Bethesda North Hospital, with non-life threatening injuries.
