This week’s Athlete of the Week is Casey Kopecky, Sophomore, Loveland Golf
The incoming sophomore finished tied for the 29th-lowest score out of more than 100 golfers July 20 to 25 at the Optimist Junior Golf Championship National at the Trump National Doral Resort and Spa in Miami, Florida.
Kopecky shot an 84 on the first day and made the cut after carding in a 77 on Day 2. His final day was his best with a 75, including a birdie on a par 4 hole No. 11, to finish with a 21 over par score of 236. Kopecky improved as the tournament went on, cutting his 10 bogies on Day 1 to just four in the final round.
