West Clermont junior forward Meagyn Riffle recorded 13 goals and 13 assists this season, and was named to the All-Southwest Ohio team, as well as the ECC All-Conference First-Team. She is your Clermont Sun Athlete of the Week!
Q: What was the key to you and your team’s success this season?
A: We were lucky to have an experienced group of seniors that gave us great leadership throughout the year. It took us a little while to get everyone on the same page, but when we did we played pretty well together.
Q: What does the honor of being named All-Ohio mean to you? What do you attribute this accomplishment to?
A: It’s a privilege to be selected among so many great players in the state. I’ve been blessed to have great coaches and play on competitive teams with good players. I’ve always had older siblings and cousins that I’ve looked up to that have helped push me to where I am now.
Q: How can your team carry the success of this season into next season?
A: We have to continue to work hard. We will need our juniors to step up and become leaders, while our younger players will have to get used to playing at the varsity level.
