It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Donald David Samples, who left this world on September 17, 2024, at the age of 77. Don was born on April 10, 1947, in Hamilton, OH to the late Donald E. and Ida E. (nee Fee) Samples.

Don is survived by his beloved wife of 49 years Carol Lee Samples (nee Urban); Loving father of David (Tami) Samples, Chris Samples, and Mary (Ron) Peveler; Cherished grandpa of Matthew Samples, Jacob Samples, and Braydon Peveler; Dear brother of Tom (Debbie) Samples.

Don graduated from Georgetown College with a Bachelor of Arts. He was actively involved in college life, being a member of the Lambda Chi Alpha Fraternity and showcasing his musical talents in the college marching band and jazz band, where he played the saxophone. Furthering his education, Don earned a Master of Education from Xavier University before embarking on a fulfilling career in education.

His passion for teaching led him to St. Bernadette Catholic School, where he held positions as a teacher and assistant principal. Later, Don became the principal of St. Veronica Catholic School, leaving a lasting impact on the lives of many students.

Don was an avid fisherman and an active member of the Miami Rifle & Pistol Club and the Hamilton County Anglers, where he found solace and joy in the serene beauty of the outdoors.

Despite his quiet nature, Don was known for his warmth and sage advice, always having the right words to offer to those in need. His love for his feline companions Costello, Middie, and Salt & Pepper was unwavering, highlighting his gentle and caring spirit.

Although he may no longer be with us, the memories of Don’s kindness and passion will forever linger in the hearts of those who were fortunate enough to know him.
