Each year, the Amelia Garden Club (AGC) and nearby friends selects a resident and a business that have shown outstanding beautification to the community.
This year’s Garden of the Year was presented to MaryJo Kelly. Her son and her grandson, who help MaryJo with the upkeep of the pond, flower beds, and garden decorations, were also present. The beautiful property has been the Kelly home for 47 years.
The Business of the Year was presented to Country Inn in Withamsville. Several AGC members have enjoyed the colorful seasonal window boxes decorating the exterior of the restaurant. The award was accepted by two of the kind and courteous staff.
Most of the AGC members live in and near the SW Clermont County area and submitted nominations from the areas of Batavia Township, Pierce Township, and Union Township. The winners were selected by committee members Virginia Schneider, Tonia Conn, Alma Heyl, Chris Thompson, and Susan Osterbrink. Norma Poe hand-painted this year’s award rocks.
