Goshen Middle School is proud to announce an exciting student-based partnership with Allied Construction Industries (ACI), the Cincinnati ToolBank, and Turner Construction, resulting in an exceptional summer experience that immersed students in the world of construction. Inspiring students and providing them with valuable hands-on experiences in the construction industry.

A group of Goshen Middle School students had the unique opportunity to visit a brand-new training center, made possible through the collaborative efforts of Goshen Middle School, ACI, the Cincinnati ToolBank, and Turner Construction. The students were warmly welcomed, and enjoyed an engaging day filled with exciting activities and opportunities. They received swag bags and lunch provided by the organizers. Interacting with skilled contractors, the students had the privilege of gaining firsthand knowledge and inspiration from industry professionals. The program included a series of hands-on activities designed to immerse the students in the construction process. From unleashing their creativity through painting projects to the exhilarating experience of operating aerial lifts, the students gained practical knowledge and developed a deep appreciation for the various career paths available in the construction industry.

“Goshen Middle School is thrilled to have partnered with ACI, the Cincinnati ToolBank, and Turner Construction to provide our students with this exceptional opportunity,” expressed Mr. Nate Baughman, Assistant Principal at Goshen Middle School. “This collaboration exemplifies our commitment to offering experiences that empower our students and open their eyes to potential career paths.”

Allied Construction Industries (ACI) as a trade association is dedicated to community development and nurturing future talent through their collaboration with educational institutions and industry leaders. ACI continues to provide students with valuable experiences that fuel their passion for construction and related trades.

The Cincinnati ToolBank, a nonprofit tool lending program, played a vital role in ensuring the students had access to a comprehensive inventory of tools. This enabled them to actively engage in hands-on construction activities, aligning with the ToolBank’s mission to enhance the capacity of the charitable sector and promote volunteerism in the greater Cincinnati area.

Turner Construction, a prominent North America-based company, provided invaluable expertise and support to the program. The contractors’ interaction with the students offered insights into the construction industry and showcased the wide array of opportunities available within the field.

The success of this collaborative effort highlights the transformative power of partnerships in education. Goshen Middle School, ACI, the Cincinnati ToolBank, and Turner Construction have demonstrated their commitment to investing in the next generation, inspiring students to explore rewarding careers in the construction industry.

“This summer program is a testament to the strong partnership between Goshen Middle School, ACI, the Cincinnati ToolBank, and Turner Construction,” said Ms. Wendy Flynn, Principal at Goshen Middle School. “We are grateful to all our partners for their dedication to creating an enriching experience that will have a lasting impact on our students’ lives.”

Goshen Middle School looks forward to continuing this collaborative effort, nurturing student talent, and empowering them to pursue successful careers in the construction industry.
