An Amelia man and a Batavia man are dead after a two-vehicle, head-on collision on state Route 276 near Water Dance Drive in Batavia Township on June 3.
According to information released by the Ohio State Highway Patrol Batavia Post, the crash happened at about 5:17 p.m.
Joseph Richmond, age 43, of Amelia, was driving a 2001 Dodge Caravan northwest on state Route 276, and Anthony Williams, age 65, of Batavia, was driving a 2006 Ford F-150 southeast on state Route 276, according to the preliminary investigation report.
Richmond crossed the center line and hit Williams’ vehicle head-on. Williams’ vehicle traveled off the right side of the roadway into a ditch, according to the investigation.
Richmond was pronounced dead on the scene by the Clermont County Coroner’s Office.
Richmond was not wearing a seatbelt at the time of the crash and alcohol and/or drugs of abuse are expected to be a factor in the crash.

The Clermont County Sheriff’s Office, Stonelick Township Fire and EMS, Central Joint Fire and EMS, and the Clermont County Coroner’s Office provided assistance on the scene.
The crash remains under investigation by the Ohio State Highway Patrol—Batavia Post.
