This year VVA Chapter 649 has had to cancel their annual flag retirement ceremony because of the COVID-19 social distancing rules. However, you can still celebrate Flag Day on June 14 by retiring your old and tattered flags at a special drive through collection event to be held at Everything Bagels in Eastgate on Sunday, June 14 from 9:00 a.m. until noon.

The first ten people who bring a flag or multiple flags to retire will receive one new 3×5 foot flag.

The 10 flags are compliments of Bill Graybill and Ohio Valley Flag. The second 10 people who bring a flag or multiple flags to retire will receive one coupon for a free bagel from Everything Bagels. Everything Bagels is located at 792 Eastgate S. Drive 45345.

If you cannot attend, you may drop off your old flags at Union Township Civic Center, Yellow Ribbon Center, Campbell’s Barn, all Union Township Fire Stations, the State Highway Patrol, PNC Bank – Goshen, All American Outpost, Freddie’s Restaurant in Beechmont and Madisonville and Everything Bagels in Eastgate.
