Goshen resident Andrew Daye graduated from the U.S. Navy Recruit Training Command’s boot camp in Great Lakes, Illinois on Sept. 20. Seaman Daye successfully completed training in ship damage control, fire fighting, weapons handling, ship line handling, naval terminology, history, and ethos, and other military subjects.

Seaman Daye excelled in all fields and earned the sharpshooter rating in weapons qualification and was meritoriously promoted to E-3 by his recruit instructors for excellent military bearing.

Seaman Daye has reported to Great Lakes A School where he will begin preparing for a career in advanced electronics and computers for aegis class destroyers.

Seaman Daye is a lifelong resident of Goshen and his parents, Richard and Sylvia Darnall continue to live in Goshen.
