Starting June 1, the Village of Bethel will mail out utility bills on a double-sided sheet of paper in an envelope. Previously, utility bills were mailed out on a postcard.

“We’ve had a lot of trouble with those [postcards] going through the automated machines, getting damaged and not making it out to the customers” said Village Administrator Travis Dotson.

The change in process will not cost Bethel any more money, according to Dotson.

The monthly utility bills, which include electric, water and garbage, will continue to be mailed on the first of the month. Delinquent notices will be sent on the 16th of the month, and continued delinquent accounts will have services cut off on the 22nd.

Residents can continue to pay their utility bills via the village drive-through or via credit card online.
