WASHINGTON TOWNSHIP — New Richmond’s Ben Nicoloff was the individual champion, and several other Clermont County runners finished strong to open the 2025 cross-country season.
The Early Bird Invitational at Washington Township Park near Felicity featured teams from Batavia, Bethel-Tate, Clermont Northeastern, Goshen, New Richmond and Williamsburg.
On the boys side, Batavia finished third with 99 points, followed by CNE with 117. East Clinton won the invite with 63 points, followed by Wilmington at 68.
Individually, Nicoloff timed at 17 minutes, 31.9 seconds, followed by CNE’s Jackson Crawford with a time of 17:40.3. Goshen’s Nathan Burke was third at 17:53.8, Richmond’s Braden Hatfield was fourth at 18:05.2 and Batavia got on the board with Levi Sorg’s fifth-place time of 18:33.0.
Georgetown won the girls’ competition with 40 points, followed by New Richmond with 84, and Wilmington and Goshen, both with 88 points. B-T rounded out the top five teams with 115 points.
Individually, Goshen freshman Madison Weaver was the invite runner-up when she reached the finish line in 22 minutes, 9:80 seconds. New Richmond’s Elizabeth Hauserman was fifth at 24:42.3.
