Union Township is making improvements to its parks.
A new playground is being added to Union Township’s Veterans Memorial Park. The new playground will be located between the sand volleyball courts and the basketball courts, according to information shared by the township. It was noted that the current playground would be available for play during the installation of the new playground.
On July 29, the township shared another parks update from Township Trustee and Chairman Michael Logue, who said that the township is making improvements to the park system across the township.
He said that dogs are allowed at all parks in Union Township, and shared that last year, a dedicated dog park was added to Clepper Park.
Parks have received upgrades of water fountains and picnic tables, and the basketball and pickleball courts at Veterans Memorial Park have been resurfaced.
Additionally, a splash pad will be added to Veterans Memorial Park.
