The end of the school year is often symbolic of the arrival of summer. Most students look for part-time jobs if they don’t already have one or are involved in some sort of travel ball. Others will use parts of the summer to volunteer their time for local causes.
Then there’s Peyton Jones.
The incoming Williamsburg senior is using her summer to earn a little extra money while also giving back to the community and the younger generation.
Jones is conducting basketball training sessions throughout the Williamsburg Local School District. Her sessions can be one-on-one or in a group setting, and they include attributes such as ball handling, shooting, passing, and defense, providing an opportunity for participants to assist with practices. Jones is offering flexible scheduling and various group rates.
“I felt that holding these trainings would be a great way to make money over the summer but could also get some of these kids excited and interested in the game and stay with the program,” Jones said.
