The New Richmond Lions got off to a red-hot start this season, going 4-0 and outscoring their opponents 147-41. They then suffered two setbacks however, falling to Roger Bacon 28-20, and Goshen 34-14.

A week seven road game against Western Brown provided a chance to steer their season back in the right direction and pick up their first win over the Broncos since 2020. They did just that, cruising to a 38-16 victory to improve to 5-2 overall and 1-1 in conference play.

The game started with two three and outs for both teams.

On the Lions’ third drive of the game, RB Braylon Patchell got them going with a 53-yard touchdown run. Trey Sininger’s extra point attempt was blocked, keeping the score at 6-0 with just over three minutes left in the first quarter.
