Valentine’s Day is for lovers. It’s a holiday that sells millions of flowers, boxes of candy and greeting cards. Although it’s considered a special day for couples, it’s a day of remembrance and sadness for others. For instance, a woman named Carrie Timmons will likely find no joy on February 14th.

Marc Hoover.

I spoke to Carrie for my Catch my Killer podcast. Although you may not know her, you may be familiar with her story and the unsolved murder of her daughter. Liberty “Libby” Rose German was a teenager who lived in Delphi, Indiana with her grandparents. Her friend was also a teenager named Abigail “Abby” Williams. Both girls were athletic, loved adventure and became best friends.

On February 13, 2017, Kelsi German (Libby’s older sister) dropped the girls off on a trail near the Hoosier Heartland Highway. The girls wanted to get out of the house and get some fresh air. It would be the last time Libby and Abby’s friends and family would ever see the girls alive.

On February 14, 2017, the girls were found deceased near the Monon High Bridge Trail in Carroll County, Indiana. Someone had murdered them. For now, authorities have disclosed little information about the case. According to Carrie Timmons, she still doesn’t know any details about Libby’s death.

I asked Carrie how she copes with her daughter’s death. She told me she stays busy by either working or spending time with her two youngest daughters. Her oldest daughter Kelsi now attends college.

Before Libby died, she captured her killer’s image and voice on her cell phone. You can hear the unidentified man say, “down the hill.” It appears as if he forced the girls underneath the Monon High Bridge. The police haven’t revealed the cause of death for either girl and have sealed their autopsy records.

I have followed this case since 2017. It has shocked America. If you look at social media, there are many armchair detectives offering their theories to anyone who will listen. Carrie has read many of these theories and doesn’t give credence to any of them.

Libby and Abby were your typical teenagers with much to live for. When the girls died, they weren’t doing anything most of us didn’t do as teenagers. I can remember my brothers and I hiking through the woods and catching critters while being eaten alive by mosquitoes.

Instead of sitting at home looking at their phones or playing video games, the girls sought adventure. Unfortunately, an unknown predator stalked and murdered them. I have watched the video of the man believed to have murdered the girls. I cannot help but think someone knows him. He likely has children, friends, or co-workers who know his identity. Perhaps they either think he isn’t capable of murdering two young girls or they just don’t want to get involved. Regardless, if you don’t want to get involved, that’s understandable. But you can still leave an anonymous tip without revealing your identity.

I ask that you look at the video of this man. It’s everywhere. Study the image of him. Do you recognize him? An unknowns stranger murdered Abby Williams and Libby German in 2017. It’s time to catch this monster and put him in prison so he cannot harm anyone else’s children or grandchildren. This case needs help from the public.
