I’m a sixth grader at West Clermont Middle School. I’m 11-years-old and if the levy doesn’t pass, I won’t get as many opportunities to be myself.

For example, we have encores that are like specials in elementary school (gym, technology, art, and music), but better because there are amazing classes I can take. I took two gym classes, a creative writing class, a mythbusters class, two design classes, and I took band. I loved it! But if the levy fails I won’t get to do a lot of these awesome classes or explore my interests.

I want to play basketball and cross country next year for the school. But, if the levy doesn’t pass then I might not be able to because there will not be as many teams and not as many people will be on the team. Many kids won’t get to play sports or be active.

Also, talking about after school activities, most clubs will be cut. At my elementary school, I did every single club. So coming from a person that loves clubs I would be super sad. Clubs made me happy because I got to do things I loved. It was a win-win for me!

There would also be no buses to take kids to school or back home so everyone would be a car rider! And traffic for everyone, with or without kids, will be awful! Some people have to be a bus rider because their parents work office hours, so many kids will have trouble getting to school.

In conclusion, if you don’t say yes to West Clermont’s levy then school kids won’t be getting their best education. Think of kids like me. I hope you vote yes for West Clermont’s levy.

Sincerely,

Maya Miller
