So Donald Trump won the election. Now what? Obviously, America didn’t go to Hell in a handbasket because we’re still here. And what about the people who threatened to become Canadian? Did any of them head north? Regardless, if they did, it won’t be any significant loss. If you stop loving this country, then you should look elsewhere for another country.

From what I gather, even the Canadians are picky about whom they allow into their country. Even Canada doesn’t want groups of anti-Trump Americans migrating to their country.

Now that Trump is president, many Clinton supporters are having a difficult time letting go. They are trying to gather signatures for various petitions, blocking streets and just getting in the way. Have they lost their minds?

Clinton supporters need to move on. The American population has spoken and chosen Trump to lead our nation for the next four years. As for protesters, I hope they aren’t missing any work to hold up their signs. So now that Trump’s elected, how will he handle America’s worst issues? Here is a short list:

Illegal immigration
Crime
Racism
Police relations
Taxes

During Trump’s campaign, he mentioned building a wall to keep our southern neighbors out. And don’t forget that America already has over 10 million illegals calling America home. So how will he handle these illegal guests?

Perhaps he could offer a week of amnesty and allow illegal immigrants to become citizens. Many have fled war, poverty, famine and death for a better opportunity. However, chasing after illegal immigrants won’t solve the issue. Most show up knowing they can find work because companies will hire these individuals and overlook any documentation.

To reduce illegal immigration, Trump must be tougher on businesses that hire illegal immigrants. Other than immigration, he has many other challenges.

For instance, he has a serious racial firestorm to address. In 2016, several Texas police officers were murdered for no reason other than their uniforms. Cases like the Ray Tensing and Samuel Dubose recently made national headlines. Tensing is a police officer that shot and killed Dubose after a traffic stop. The case ended in a hung jury.

Prosecutor Joe Deters is considering retrying Tensing again. He has much to consider. Is it worth taxpayer money to retry a man who won’t be convicted? The issue is over the homicide charge which requires an intent to take a life.

Although Tensing should face punishment for killing Dubose, I don’t think he stopped Dubose intending to kill him. If I came to this conclusion, I am assuming the jury also concurred. The Tensing-Dubose shooting is only one of many circumstances involving a police shooting. How will Trump handle these incidents on a national scale? It’s hard to say since he hasn’t even moved into the White House. But you can believe the media and the public will seek answers.

The American people chose Trump to handle our issues. Is he up for the job? That’s the million dollar question. We must wait for the answers to unfold over the next four years. Maybe Trump will follow the words of Filipino president Rody Duterte. “A leader must be a terror to the few who are evil in order to protect the lives and well-being of the many who are good.”
