Goshen is playoff bound to headline Clermont County’s Week Ten of high school varsity football action. The Warriors will host the Lemon-Monroe Fighting Hornets on Friday Nov. 2, beginning at 7:30 p. m., in the first round of the Division III state playoffs.
Amelia and Williamsburg both achieved a number of victories that surpasses what has not been achieved by their respective programs in several years. And Milford won the first Miami Township Battle of the Victory Bell and Batavia retained possession of the Bragging Rights Trophy.
Goshen (9-1) qualified for the state playoffs with its convincing 56-7 win over visiting West Carrollton. The Warriors were in command from the get-go 14-0, 35-0, and 49-0. John Strong scored for the Red and Gray on runs of 17, 54, and two yards, Billy Whitacre on runs of 72 and four yards, Nick Napier on long bursts of 64 and 52 yards, and Jeff Miller on a two-yard dive. The points after touchdown unit of sophomore long snapper Chase Prince, sophomore holder Randy Spence, and junior place kicker Ryan Reeves was successful on all conversion kicks.
