A four-year-old is dead after he was struck and killed by a delivery truck in a Batavia Township neighborhood.
The child has been identified by the Hamilton County Coroner’s Office as Daniel Uhlenbrock, according to news reports.
The crash happened on Feb. 24 at 4:28 p.m. on Autumnview Drive, according to a press release from the Batavia Post of the Ohio State Highway Patrol.
A freightliner truck driven by Kendra Dukes, 51, of Cincinnati, was traveling southeast on Autumnview Drive, where it turned around in the cul-de-sac and stopped, according to the preliminary investigation.
As the truck began to move, the child, riding a wagon, entered the roadway and was struck by the freightliner truck.
The child sustained life-threatening injuries and was transported by air ambulance to Cincinnati Children’s Hospital where he succumbed to his injuries.
Dukes was wearing a safety belt at the time of the crash and was not injured.
The crash remains under investigation.
The Clermont County Sheriff’s Office, Central Joint Fire-EMS District and UC Health-Air Care assisted the Ohio State Highway Patrol on the scene.
