New Richmond senior Silas Jacob recently wrapped up a stellar high school career. Jacob recorded 328 career tackles, was named all-district as a senior, and was named first-team all-conference in his last two seasons. He is your Clermont Sun Athlete of the Week!
Q: What were the keys to your success throughout your high school career?
A: Staying consistent in practice and putting in time during the off-season. Having a good support system with my friends and family definitely helps.
Q: What’s it been like representing the New Richmond community for the past four years?
A: It’s been amazing! The New Richmond community is extremely strong and supportive. They show up and create a great crowd at our home games and away games.
Q: Do you feel like you and the rest of your senior class have left the program in a good place?
A: Yes, I think a lot of us have done an excellent job leading and setting the tone for the underclassmen this year. I believe that a standard has been set and it is up to them to raise that standard and continue to do an ELITE job representing our program in the future.
Q: Any future educational, occupational, or athletic plans you’d like to share?
A: I plan to play college football at the next level while getting an education to become a physician assistant with a focus in orthopedics and sports medicine.
