The Batavia Post of the Ohio State Highway Patrol is investigating a 2-vehicle fatal crash that occurred on Moore Marathon Road at approximately 11:00 p.m. on July 14, 2023, in Jackson Township, Clermont County.
A Preliminary investigation revealed a 2023 Honda CRF 125 motorcycle, operated by an Austin C. Askren, age 21, of Williamsburg, Ohio was driving southeast on Moore Marathon Road. A 2001 Honda CRF 80 motorcycle, operated by a Justin S. Bocskor, age 25, of Loveland, Ohio with passenger Arielle S. Swearingen, age 21, of Williamsburg, Ohio was driving northwest on Moore Marathon Road. Mr. Askren’s motorcycle struck Mr. Bocskor’s motorcycle in the middle of the roadway head-on.
Austin C. Askren was pronounced deceased at the scene by the Clermont County Coroner. Justin S. Bocskor was transported to the Jackson Township Building to be flown by Air Care to UC Medical Center in Cincinnati. Justin S. Bocskor was later pronounced deceased by the Clermont County Coroner at the Jackson Township Building. Arielle S. Swearingen was transported to the UC Medical Center to be treated for injuries sustained from the crash.
All three occupants of the 2 motorcycles were not wearing helmets at the time of the crash. It is unknown if alcohol or drugs was a contributing factor to the crash.
Assisting at the scene were the Clermont County Sheriff’s Department, Clermont County Coroner’s Office, Jackson Township Fire and EMS, Wayne Township Fire and EMS, and Air Care out of UC Medical Center.
