The search is on for New Richmond Exempted Village School District’s next treasurer.
The reason for the search came after it was recently announced that the current treasurer will retire at the end of the school year.
School Treasurer Julia Toth joined the school district’s administrative team after former treasurer Mike Mowery retired at the end of 2018.
When it comes to finding the school district’s next treasurer, the school board approved a contract with the Ohio School Boards Association to conduct a search during its Dec. 16, 2019 meeting.
The search process could cost the school district an estimated $9,000.
The board solicited the OSBA’s services when it was looking to fill its superintendent position last year, after former superintendent Adam Bird announced that he would be resigning from the position at the close of the 2018-2019 school year.
Board member Robert Wooten said, “It went very well; they did an excellent job, and I’m looking forward to working with them on the treasurer’s search.”
Work to find the next treasurer is expected to begin this month.
