Clermont Soil & Water celebrated its 83rd year of conservation work in Clermont County last week at its Annual Meeting at Winemiller Farms in Wayne Township, Ohio.
At the meeting, several Clermont County residents were honored with awards. Cindy Cassell was recognized as the Cooperator of the Year for the conservation practices implemented on her farm and her work to create a new Ag Literacy Program. Kelly Tobias-Adduci was awarded Educator of the Year for her extensive contributions to conservation artwork, both in the classroom and throughout the Greater Cincinnati area. Former Soil & Water interns (and West Clermont High School students) Suzy Lemon, Ryan Magnusson, River Hall, and Kelcey Kirby were name the Volunteers of the Year for their many hours of hard work to promote conservation in Clermont County. Former Director Dave Anspach was honored for his 21 years of service on the Board of Supervisors. Clermont Soil & Water would like to thank the Clermont County Board of Commissioners, our state representatives, and the Office of U.S. Representative Dave Taylor for helping us honor our awardees.
The election for the Board of Supervisors concluded at the Annual Meeting. Tim Rose was re-elected to the Board of Supervisors for his third term, and Joe Glassmeyer III was elected to his first term.
This year, a locally grown meal was provided for the dinner, prepared by Organic Farm at Bear Creek. The menu can be viewed on the Clermont County Soil & Water Facebook page, and we highly encourage everyone to check out the products from these great local farms.
This event was sponsored by Vista Grand Ranch. Americana band Get Down River, Paradise Brewing and Grant’s Garden Center provided entertainment, drinks and flowers.
The host, Winemiller Farms, generously shared their space and their impressive collection of farm equipment and historic planes with guests. Clermont Soil & Water would like to thank all of the attendees and are excited for what the next year of conservation will bring.
