A few Clermont County fall sports teams will compete in different divisions after the Ohio High School Athletic Association announced the new divisional breakdowns for the upcoming fall sports tournaments in girls and boys golf, girls tennis, girls and boys soccer and girls volleyball.
The 2026-27 school year will be the first of a new two-year enrollment cycle using data provided by the Ohio Department of Education. The fall sports of soccer and girls volleyball also go through the OHSAA competitive balance process. For golf, the official start date for tryouts, practice and competition is July 29. For all other fall sports, tryouts and practice can begin Aug. 1, followed by staggered season start dates by sport.
Majority of the divisional changes stems from boys and girls soccer.
Williamsburg and Clermont Northeastern both moved up to Division IV in girls soccer competition. CNE witnessed a 10-student increase while Williamsburg went up 25. Meanwhile, Bethel-Tate girls soccer dropped to Division V after competing in Division IV last season.
Milford and West Clermont programs remain in Division I and Batavia, Goshen and New Richmond girls will each stay in Division III, as does Batavia and Goshen in boys soccer. The Lions were bumped to Division IV from III in boys soccer.
Bethel-Tate and CNE remain in Division IV, and Williamsburg stays in D-V.
Slight changes in volleyball include Batavia, which went up from Division IV to III, following a two student-increase in the school’s enrollment. Meanwhile, Bethel-Tate dropped from Division IV to V despite a nine-student increase, and New Richmond is in Division IV from III. The Southern Clermont County school saw female enrollment increase by 10 students.
