An FC Cincinnati player made club history last week.
Center back Miles Robinson started for the U.S. men’s national team in its Group D match on June 25 against Türkiye. The American lost 3-2 before its Round of 32 match. Robinson didn’t score or assist in either of the USA’s two goals in the match.
This match marks Robinson’s FIFA World Cup debut. In May, he became the first active FC Cincinnati player to be named to a U.S. World Cup roster, underlining the significance of his achievement.
Robinson was the first active FC Cincinnati player to be named to a U.S. roster for a FIFA World Cup and the second player in club history to be named to a World Cup roster while a member of the Orange and Blue, since Ronald Matarrita for team Costa Rica in 2022.
Robinson signed with FC Cincinnati in 2024.
His professional journey began when he was selected as the No. 2 overall pick by Atlanta United in the 2017 MLS SuperDraft. Earlier in his career, Robinson started six World Cup qualifiers for 2022 but missed Qatar after rupturing his left Achilles while playing for Atlanta United.
