A big reason behind Milford winning the All-Sports Trophy in back-to-back seasons is the consistent high performance of its spring teams. The boys and girls lacrosse teams both finished in the top two of the Eastern Cincinnati Conference, while the boys volleyball team also earned a second-place finish. Milford secured the trophy by earning 188.5 points, narrowly surpassing Loveland, which scored 186 points.
Transitioning to boys lacrosse, the Eagles won the ECC for the fourth time in six seasons, finishing 7-0 in conference play and 14-7 overall. Junior Clay Barkimer led the way with offensive player of the year honors as part of Milford’s 14 selections, including 11 first-teamers.
Barkimer impressed with an ECC-leading 57 goals while also ranking third in assists with 34. In addition, he secured 49 ground balls and caused 14 turnovers.
Other first-teamers for Milford included Tyler Allard, Gabe Arbino, Barkimer, Nolan Burch, Jack Duncan, Alden Gooch, Caden Nicholl, Keegan Oldendick, Wade Rotunna, Trey Wagner and Knox Zurmehly.
Arbino set the single-season school record in winning face-offs with 296.
