As the Fourth of July approaches, it is disheartening to realize that many people in our nation are unaware of the significance of this important day. Some lack this knowledge because they have never been taught about our history, while others may not have taken the time to learn these important facts.
Although I am only in the seventh grade, I am beginning to appreciate our nation’s history more and more. Unfortunately, many children my age cannot tell you much about America’s past. The stories of America’s courageous heroes, thrilling battles, and rich history are both educational and exciting, yet many young people are missing out on these experiences.
As America prepares to celebrate its 250th birthday, I encourage educators, parents, and communities to help teach children what America is all about and the sacrifices that were made to secure the freedoms we enjoy today.

This book can help introduce young readers to America’s story and inspire them to learn more.
