Lucy and I didn’t walk in any parks last week as we took a mini vacation to Northwest Ohio to visit family. Still, there’s plenty to cover in this week’s column on Clermont County parks.

This week’s spot is Locust Corner Park & Trails in Pierce Township — one of my absolute favorites in the county — at 961 Locust Corner Road outside Amelia.

It is definitely our most frequently walked.

LOCUST CORNER PARK & TRAILS

A little bit about the beautiful Pierce Township park. It spans the area next to and across the street

from the Pierce Township Police Department.

This sprawling park also offers walking paths that enter the Pierce Township Cemetery.

This park has a variety of activities for everyone with paved walking paths, hiking trails, a children’s playground, picnic tables, baseball fields, a basketball court, tennis and pickleball courts and an off-leash dog park, which Lucy loves to go to as a stop on our walks.

Unique to this park is the Pierce Township History Trail along one of the walking paths, where you can learn more about Pierce Township’s history, including easy scan QR codes to access more information on each of the subjects listed on the historical markers.

Several community events are hosted at the park and outdoor stage throughout the year. More information on the park can be found at piercetownship.org/parks.
