Batavia, OH — Horse owners and equine professionals are invited to join the Clermont Equine Pasture Walk on Tuesday, August 20, 2025, from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. at Grassy Acres Horse Retreat, located at 3991 Afton-Elklick Rd., Batavia, OH 45103.
Hosted by OSU Extension Clermont County and Clermont County Soil and Water Conservation District, this hands-on, statewide learning experience offers participants the opportunity to explore best practices in equine pasture management directly on a working horse farm. Attendees will gain insights into:
• Plant and root physiology
• Mud management and dry lot strategies
• Grazing stick use and forage calculations
• Weed identification and poisonous plant awareness
Light refreshments will be served starting at 5:30 p.m., and the event is free and open to the public. Please RSVP by calling 513-732-7070 by August 18, 2025.
“This is a great opportunity for horse owners to learn how to improve the health and productivity of their pastures,” said Gigi Neal, OSU Extension Educator. “Whether you’re new to pasture management or looking to refine your practices, this event offers practical, research-based guidance.”
Participants are welcome to attend other sessions across Ohio, including the upcoming Ashtabula County Pasture Walk on September 3, 2025, at Grand Haven Horse Farm in Jefferson, OH.
