County athletes quickly made their marks

At least one thing has been clear to me a month into my new job as sports reporter of The Clermont Sun.

There is a lot of talent in Clermont County.

That’s not shocking to many of our readers, but for someone new to the area, it’s not only eye-opening but also exciting to know I’ll have some great, talented student-athletes to showcase.

That’s what my job is all about.

Let’s begin with basketball, where the Loveland boys basketball team became the fourth squad in Tigers program history to win a district title and advance to the regional tournament. On that team, the Tigers look to have a generational-type athlete in Chase Martin, who is a junior and can return next season for an encore performance.

Connor Yeager finished his career at Clermont Northeastern with 1,000-plus points and 1,000-plus rebounds. That’s unbelievable, especially when Yeager grabbed his 1,000 rebound first, head coach Cory Moore said.
