What in your background qualifies you to serve in this position?

As a teacher I had to implement creative solutions for classroom management and for motivating my at risk students to read and write. I have spent years volunteering in my children’s school related activities like girl scouts, book fairs, field days, and Girls on the Run.

Why are you running for this position?

Since my separation and divorce over ten years ago I have been struggling to find affordable housing. It doesn’t need to be this hard. Cities and counties all across the country have been finding innovative solutions to make housing more affordable. One of the reasons I am running is to find solutions to make housing more affordable in Clermont County too.

What is your platform?

Strengthening communities / Advancing democratic principles / Making government work

What are the most pressing issues facing Clermont County that come before someone who is elected to the position you seek?

One of the most pressing issues right now is the county Animal Shelter. Concerned residents have been bringing their concerns about how it is being run for a long time and feel their concerns are being dismissed.

If elected, what would you seek to enhance and improve Clermont County?

My first priorities would be to improve the relationship between the Board of Commissioners and Clermont County residents by improving communication, transparency and accountability in order to restore the community’s trust in county government and improve civic engagement. It will take time, but I also would work to strengthen the local communities.
