What in your background qualifies you to serve in this position?
My experience as a senior credit analyst for a large corporation involved a lot of customer service and advocation for my customers. They were big-box companies with stores around the US who depended on Senco’s fine products to sell in their retail stores. As a volunteer EMT-A and Life Squad chief, I worked with many volunteer members under my wing. I was a delegate for our department to the Clermont County Life Squad Association. Along with other departments, we facilitated several continuing education classes over the years. It was because of my leadership I was encouraged to run for township trustee. My first year in office, we went from mostly volunteer to a full-time paramedic department. As a township trustee, I served as president of the Clermont County Township Association for 8 years.
Why are you running for this position?
Since I’ve been a county commissioner for the last four years, I have projects that I’d like to see through in my next term. My main project is seeing the Veteran’s Village be developed in Felicity.
What is your platform?
Safety Services, Law Enforcement and Veterans’ interests.
What are the most pressing issues facing Clermont County that come before someone who is elected to the position you seek?
Hiring qualified employees to work at the county. We have many open positions. Some are entry level and some require a higher skill level. All we need are interested and qualified folks to apply. Facility needs are important. We are growing at one of the fastest rates in Ohio. Our facilities need to be primed to best serve our citizens.
If elected, what would you seek to enhance and improve Clermont County?
To serve as a guide and a facilitator for future progress for our county’s emergency and safety services, including our Sheriff’s Office and their operations. Since my husband is a Vietnam Veteran, I would like to see that our veterans are not forgotten or neglected in our county. They served us, now it’s time we serve them.
