Goshen senior forward Zane Jimison is off to a red hot start this season, recording 12 goals and four assists through seven matches. He is your Clermont Sun Athlete of the Week!
Q: Favorite professional soccer player?
A: Christiano Ronaldo.
Q: What’s been the key to you and your team’s success this season?
A: The main key to our team’s success this season is how bad we want to win. We have a lot of juniors and seniors on our team and we know that this is our last chance to do something no soccer team in our school’s history has done before.
Q: How much would winning a league title your senior year mean to you?
A: Winning League would mean so much to me, my freshman year we were one game away from winning the league. So knowing that we have a great chance to do it this year is amazing. The Goshen soccer program has never won League before so being able to lead my team to make school history would mean everything to me.
Q: What makes the Goshen community so special?
A: Soccer has never really been a big sport at Goshen so we don’t get many fans, but the fans and parents that are at our games supporting us are great. If we win League this year it will let the Goshen community know about our soccer team and hopefully bring more support in years to come
Q: What does your team need to do to keep your winning ways?
A: The main thing we need to do to keep up our winning ways is to keep up our defense and trust the game plan. Our defense has been so great this season and is a huge reason why we are winning games.
Q: Do you have plans on continuing your soccer career after high school?
A: I would love to play college soccer. Right now I haven’t gotten much recognition, but if I get a chance to play somewhere I will definitely jump at the opportunity.
