Secretary of State Frank LaRose has issued a directive that says that ballot drop boxes in Ohio can only be used by people to submit their own early absentee ballots for the 2024 general election.
LaRose issued the directive on Aug. 31.
Anyone returning a completed ballot on behalf of someone else cannot use the drop box.
Anyone returning a completed ballot on behalf of someone must either mail the ballot or return the completed ballot inside the election’s office.
