The Citizens Advisory Team has presented its Master Facilities Plan recommendations to the West Clermont Board of Education for consideration.
“We want to thank the Citizens Advisory Team who has been working for months on a plan to address aging facilities, overcrowded schools, and inequitable facilities across the district to accommodate modern learners and a modern workforce in the district,” said Natasha Adams, Superintendent of West Clermont Schools.
The proposed changes include:
– Removing 5th grade from elementary schools and merging it with 6th grade to form a new intermediate school.
– Building this intermediate school next to a new 7th and 8th grade building on the current campus. While these buildings will be connected for efficiency, they will function as separate schools.
– Constructing two new elementary schools one for Holly Hill and one for Merwin plus implementing a plan for preschool.
The district is also hosting several upcoming Blazing New Trails town halls/building tours so you can get involved in the process. This is your chance to tour schools, ask questions, and engage with district leaders.
The Board of Education will review the recommendations is scheduled to make its decision on Sept. 9 on whether the plan can move forward.
