Five West Clermont School employees were recognized at the Aug. 26 Board of Education meeting after winning prestigious awards.
“The passion and dedication these five educators show each and every day is truly remarkable and inspiring.” said Natasha Adams Superintendent of West Clermont Schools. “I’m thrilled to see their hard work and dedication recognized in such a meaningful way.”
Michelle Dohrmann was recognized after being selected as the 2025 State Board of Education District 5 Teacher of the Year. She’s also one of four finalists for Ohio Teacher of the Year which is scheduled to be announced in September. Michelle teaches the Teacher Academy at West Clermont High School and has been with the district for 21 years.
Rena Ford who began in the district in 1994 was honored by the Martha Holden Jennings Foundation as the 2024 Jennings Master Teacher of the Year Award. This is one of the highest accolades the Foundation bestows upon educators. The foundation which supports education in Ohio also donated a $8,500 grant in Rena’s name to be used to implement a project of her choice.
Renna DeBoy and Mary Hufford were also recognized by the Martha Holden Jennings Foundation after being awarded the George B. Milbourn Team Teachers Award of Excellence. The foundation awards this to a team of teachers who work together on a project to benefit students and promote deep learning.
Dennis Vance was honored for receiving the Safety Stand Out Award from the Ohio School Safety Center. Dennis is the Head Custodian at West Clermont Middle School and was selected due to his passion and drive in keeping his school and students safe – physically, emotionally, and educationally.
