Council on Aging (COA) is partnering with Clermont Senior Services and other Clermont County agencies to connect area older adults and caregivers to important information, resources, and benefits that can promote independent living and help improve their quality of life.

More than 51,000 Clermont County residents – approximately one-quarter of the county’s total population – are age 60 or older with 27% having at least one disability. Called Aging Connections, this event will feature experts from COA, Clermont Senior Services, Pro Seniors, Clermont County Emergency Management Agency, Clermont County Health Department, Social Security, and Inter Parish Ministries.

The event is free, but registration is required by September 5. Event attendees can expect an information-filled day including:

• Council on Aging staff can provide information about programs and resources to age in place, caregiver support, free health

and wellness programs, utility assistance, and more.

• Clermont Senior Services will share how they can help support older adults’ independence by providing and coordinating in-home and community services.

• Clermont County Emergency Management will share why it’s especially important for older adults to be prepared in an emergency – and ways to do it.

• Experts from Pro Seniors and Senior Medicare patrol will share information about common frauds and scams targeting older adults and what you need to know to NOT become a victim.

• Representatives from the Social Security Administration’s Central & Southern Ohio office will be available to discuss programs, services, and benefits.

• Representatives from IPM Food Pantry will distribute free snack packs. Attendees can learn how IPM is more than a traditional food pantry.
