On Aug. 3, members trained on various techniques that can be used when performing a rescue in a small body of water, such as a swimming pool or small pond.

The department partnered with the YMCA, which hosted the training at their facility.

Throughout July, members have trained for incidents involving motor vehicles.

“Whether it’s an MVA (Motor Vehicle Accident) involving entrapment or a vehicle on fire, it’s extremely important for us to be efficient in these life-threatening situations,” reads a social media post from the department.

“We appreciate Kurt Schoenfeld with Howell Rescue Systems for bringing his knowledge and expertise on vehicle extrications. We also always appreciate our relationship with Ellis Farm & Garden for providing the straw for the vehicle fire training. We’re thankful for these great partnerships.”
