The Ohio Public Works Commission announces its latest commitments of its discretionary Emergency Program.
This program, administered by the OPWC director, is for those projects that address immediate health and safety threats. Requests are treated on a first-come, first-served basis year-round if funding is available.
The most recent commitments are primarily due to the significant spring rains in early April and are likely the last ones this fiscal year before the fund is replenished in July 2024.
In Clermont County, funding has been committed for:
- Neville-Penn Schoolhouse Landslide Stabilization for a grant amount of $224,991
“Unexpected infrastructure failures cause disruption to local communities by creating health and safety hazards,” said OPWC Director Linda Bailiff. “We strive to respond to requests within 48 hours and are grateful to be able to help so many communities with these unplanned events.” More information about OPWC’s programs is available at publicworks.ohio.gov.
