Goshen coach Scott Wake talks to his team during a Feb. 22 playoff game against Lebanon.

A Macee Steele three-pointer as time expired in overtime gave Goshen a thrilling 74-72 win over Lebanon and advanced them to the D1 Southwest District 3 Championship. They will take on the number three ranked team in Ohio, the Mason Comets.

Goshen came into this Feb. 22 matchup with a 19-4 record and Lebanon came in at 18-5. It felt like it could be a tight one and it delivered, producing an instant classic.

The Warriors led 20-13 at the end of the first quarter, seeming to settle in more after the first few minutes. They opened up quarter two with an 11-3 run, giving them a 31-16 lead. Aubrie Huxel (20 points 10 rebounds) was huge during this stretch, helping out on the glass, and on the scoresheet.

Goshen head coach Scott Wake said, “Her effort is great, she’s always going to give a good effort and play at 100 miles an hour. She makes things happen.”
