As a resident, alumna, and parent in the West Clermont Local School District, I feel it is important to stay informed on the district’s initiatives. Recently, my son’s teacher invited me to the Town Hall event at West Clermont Middle School. I was excited to attend but wasn’t sure what to expect. At the event, we discussed the current state of the learning facilities within the district. It was a great opportunity to collaborate with parents, teachers, and administrators from the school to discuss the future of Summerside Elementary and how to better meet the learning needs of students. Everyone was there with a common goal: improve the educational experience for our students.

Over the course of two hours, everyone present had the opportunity to brainstorm, listen, share ideas, and collaborate with one another. I really enjoyed hearing what teachers would like to see in their learning environments and what is important to them as educators. The collaboration was positive, encouraging, and productive. I left the event feeling proud to have students in the West Clermont Local School District. Our district is on the rise! They are acknowledging the challenges ahead as we look toward the future. They value input from community members, parents, and staff. They provide opportunities like Town Hall events, for people to stay informed and become involved in where we go next as a district.

I encourage any fellow parent or resident to attend these events in the future. Nothing is more important than the future of our students, and you DO have a voice in what happens next!
